Join us for an evening with two award-winning poets, Ainee Fatima and Amina Dzananovic, as they share stories of their experiences growing up Muslim and American in Skokie.

Ainee and Amina have been finalists in the Louder Than a Bomb slam poetry festival and are alums of the Niles West spoken word group A Tribe Called West. Ainee is currently a graduate student at DePaul University's School of Education and has worked with the U.S. State Department to bridge the gap between Muslim and non-Muslim communities in America. Amina is a thriving poet on the Chicago slam poetry scene who is looking forward to publishing her work.

Presented as part of Coming Together in Skokie and Niles Township 2018.
