Ruth grew up in Chicago and earned a bachelor of art education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She taught art in Evanston and later earned her masters of education while teaching at Gale Academy in Chicago. She retired from teaching in 2005 and now enjoys time exercising, painting, and spending time with her friends and family. Ruth has been a resident of Skokie since 1971, raising her three children with her husband of 56 years. Her work has been exhibited at numerous art fairs, the Evanston Art Center, Emily Oaks Center, and Kaplan JCC.
