Explore the Chicago of the 1940s and '50s.

It was Studs Terkel and Mahalia Jackson. It was Muddy Waters and Mies van der Rohe. It was Gwendolyn Brooks and Mayor Daley. It was Ebony and Playboy. It was A Raisin in the Sun and The Man with the Golden Arm and Kukla, Fran and Ollie. It was McDonald's and improv and the birth of rock 'n' roll. It was Emmett Till. It was Chicago in the 1940s and '50s, and even those who were there don't know the full story.

This is a hybrid event with the option to participate in person or on Zoom. Online participants will receive the Zoom link in their confirmation email.
