Latin Jazz with the Raices Quintet

Enjoy a performance paying homage to the originators of Latin Jazz, such as Cal Tjader and Mongo Santamaria, and original music in the same style.

Raices was founded by Chicago percussionist Rubén Alvarez and is currently led by vibraphonist Joe Sonnefeldt. Their debut album features eight original compositions played Cha-Cha-Cha, Afro 6/8, Mambo, Bolero, Songo, and more styles.

Raíces features Joe Sonnefeldt on vibes, Bobby Delgado on timbales, Jorge Leal on congas, Stuart Seale on piano, and Eric Ferrer on bass.
