Have you ever wanted to be part of a library book discussion group, but worried that your English language skills were not strong enough?
In this ELL Literacy Circle for advanced English learners, we will read and discuss an American novel together with the support of Margaret Feit Clarke, an experienced ESL teacher from the ELL Parent Center. Participants will strengthen their language skills while learning more about great literature, American culture, and the Skokie community. Limited to 16 participants.
Registration starts February 1 and closes March 7. The group will meet every Tuesday for 10 weeks: March 7- May 16, 10 am-noon. (no class March 28)
We will discuss Oh William!, a novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Elizabeth Strout. This novel centers on family relationships in American culture today. Books will be available at the first meeting and are for participants to read and keep.
