Young Steinway Concert

Joseph Kim, Guitar, and Yuriy Rogachev, Piano

Our Young Steinway Concerts feature talented young classical musicians. Today, hear guitarist Joseph Kim and pianist Yuriy Rogachev.

Joseph Kim, an 11th grader at Libertyville High School, studies classical guitar with Brad Conroy. He performed on WFMT's Introductions program in September 23. In addition to his guitar work, Joseph plays euphonium in his high school wind ensemble and has played trombone and electric guitar in his high school pit orchestra and jazz ensemble.

A junior at Oak Park River Forest High School, Yuriy Rogachev studies piano with Sueanne Shimabuku Metz. He won first place in the 2024 Berkley Pendell Piano Scholarship Competition and the 2024 Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition, as well as winning a platinum medal in the 2024 Canadian International Music Competition.
