Drop by our table to make marigolds to decorate our community Day of the Dead altar.
Marigolds are an important part of Día de los Muertos ofrendas, or altars, for Day of the Dead.
This year, we're putting together an ofrenda to observe this holiday. Día de los Muertos is celebrated November 1-2 throughout Latin America to honor the passage of loved ones. We are participating in the holiday this year to connect with our personal and collective grief in the wake of the pandemic. Make a marigold for the library to display and bring one home for yourself if you wish.
If you’d like to contribute items for display, bring them to the East Desk October 25-31. Items should be copies of photos or other items that are not precious to you.
