Chicago Modern Quilt Guild Reception

Artists from the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild proudly celebrate their exhibition, featuring 35 quilts fashioned with shirts from family, friends, and the artists' own closets.

Take the Shirt off My Back showcases the beautiful, inventive ways materials can be repurposed, reused, and given new life. With consciousness of widespread waste in the fabric and clothing industry, repurposing and sustainability was at the heart of this challenge. Each quilt tells a different story, sparking inspiration toward eco-friendliness in all parts of peoples' lives.

The Chicago Modern Quilt Guild is an open-spirited community group that believes respecting different cultures and gender identifications enriches and enhances the guild.
