Booking with a Buddy

Session 3

Kids entering grades 1-3 in the fall can be "little buddies," taking part in this literacy program that promotes reading during the summer.

Little buddy participants spend 10 hours over four weeks (July 8-August 1) reading aloud and talking about books with teen big buddy volunteers, as well as playing literacy games and doing group activities. Space is limited, and the last day to register is Sunday, June 30 (or until registration is full). Little buddies are matched with big buddies and meet in small groups on Mondays and Thursdays.

Register for this event if you want the 6:15-7:30 pm time. Other times are 1:15-2:30 pm and 4-5:15 pm. Meeting times are available on a first-come, first-served basis for 12 kids per session. Register only if you can attend at least six of the eight sessions. Once you register, you will receive more information about your session.

Although this program encourages reading, it is not a tutoring program and all big buddies are teen volunteers. Please contact Mandy O’Brien if you have questions.
