Kaitlyn Greenidge's book follows Libertie Sampson as she struggles to define and pursue what freedom means to her.
This coming-of-age tale follows Libertie Sampson, a free-born Black girl in Reconstruction-era Brooklyn. As she tries to parse what freedom actually means for a Black woman, Libertie struggles with where she might find it--for herself and future generations.
Libertie can be checked out on Hoopla, where copies are always available, and is also available to read through OverDrive. This discussion is in collaboration with Morton Grove Public Library.
