Booking with a Buddy

Kids entering grades 1-3 in the fall can be "little buddies," taking part in this online literacy program that promotes reading during the summer. Space is limited.

Little buddy participants spend eight hours over four weeks (July 5-July 29) enjoying reading aloud and talking about books with teen big buddy volunteers, as well as playing literacy games and doing group activities. Space is limited, and the last day to register is Monday, June 28 (or until registration is full). Little buddies are matched with big buddies and meet in small groups on Mondays and Thursdays using Zoom.

Register for this event if you want the 10:30 am time. Other times are 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm, and 6 pm. Meeting times are available on a first-come, first-served basis for eight kids per session. Register only if you can attend at least six of the eight sessions. Once you register, you will receive a link for your session.

Although this program encourages reading, it is not a tutoring program and all big buddies are teen volunteers. Please contact Mandy O’Brien if you have questions.
