In 1665, the Bubonic Plague came to Eyam, England, where the local vicar led the villagers in quarantining themselves, a response that had not been common before that event.

Told from the point of view of Anna Frith, servant to the vicar, this tale is inspired by the real town that has been commemorated as Plague Village. The Year of Wonders is currently available as an Overdrive eBook and audiobook.

Registration closes at 10 am the day of the event. We will email the Zoom event link after registration has closed. If you have questions about this event after registration has closed, please email the events team or call the library at 847-673-7774.
